3 Simple Reasons Why You Need a VPN

You hear a lot about VPN (Virtual Private Network) these days. Some of you might have studied about it in ‘Computer Networks’ subject in your school or college days, but later forgot about it. The intent of me writing this article is to make you understand the importance of VPN, its benefits and reasons to use a VPN.

I’m an internet addict who uses internet everyday from my Home for checking emails, Facebook, Twitter and for general research or browsing for my work purposes. Occasionally, I also use internet for sensitive browsing like checking my online Bank account, transferring funds and recharging my mobile phone online etc., While I’m busy sending out tons of my personal and confidential data in the open internet, is my data safe? No, Never!  So, how can I protect my data and at the same time enjoy surfing the internet? One of the simple and most effective ways is to use a good VPN service. . Buck up guys! Continue to read and you will know VPN is not too complicated to understand!

3 Simple Reasons, why is a VPN important:
1.    Safe and Secure Internet Browsing.
While you are hooked up to the internet from your home computer, your data passes through millions of wires on the internet. At the back of your mind, you realize there is an imminent threat to your information you transfer via the internet. So, how do you act proactively to safeguard your data? Here is when you can think of setting up a VPN, because VPN technology encrypts every data you send across the internet. That means, the information you send out to the open web cannot be hacked or snooped by anyone. So, choose your VPN service provider carefully or set up a FREE VPN at Home and enjoy secure browsing.

2.    Access all the Blocked websites
Some of you live in countries which are enemies of the internet where a whole bunch of websites are blocked (or denied access) for various reasons. Countries like China, Iran, UAE have strict internet censorship policies and block social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter etc.,  But, A VPN helps you to browse all the blocked websites in your country. How? The moment you connect to the internet via a VPN, your computer will get a fake IP address. This IP address will resemble a US, Europe computer IP address and not your original computer IP address. This way you can easily trick your local internet service provider of your country.

If you reside outside of USA and UK but still wish to enjoy some of the coolest online services like Hulu, Spotify, Pandora, CBS, Skysports, BBC iPlayer etc., VPN can easily give access to these services.

3.   Secure Public Wi-Fi or Hotspot browsing
The moment we find an internet access in a public place like Coffee shops, Railway stations, Hotels and Restaurants, Airports, Malls, Libraries, Schools, we jump-start connecting to it from our mobile devices like iPhones, iPads, Laptops etc., We never realize that the consequences are grave if we browse via these public Wi-Fi or Hotspots, because anyone can easily hack your data and misuse your information. However, if you are VPN protected, your data is securely tunnelled and no one can hack your data or damage your online identity.

Though there are few other reasons of having a VPN, these are the most straightforward ones, I believe for using a VPN. Nevertheless, some people just prefer to use VPN as it gives them total anonymity. That means, no one will be ever able to find any information about you, your location or the content you browse via VPN!
